Daniel Mattos
Executive and Program Director
After growing up playing for several youth soccer and futsal academies in Brazil, Daniel moved to the United States in 2006 with a 100% athletic scholarship to play for Penn State University. Later, he transferred to the University of West Florida where he finished his college playing career and a degree in Business Administration, minor in Marketing. Later Daniel pursued his MBA in Business Administration at Eastern Michigan University. He has vast coaching experience in youth and college level soccer (Assistant Coach for Madonna University for 2 seasons). In 2014, Daniel co-founded and started as a Technical Director for the Michigan Futsal Factory Academy program. In 2016 he brought the program to Illinois and founded the IL Futsal Factory Academy.

Coach Kurt has been a pivotal presence in the ILFFA since day one. Reside in Cary, IL. Married to Daphne. Father of 2 girls, Finley (8) and Tatum (5). He describes coaching soccer and futsal as passion and a privilege that he is grateful to be a part of. Kurt's other passions are spending time with family, traveling, and golf.

After growing up playing futsal in Brazil, Hugo played professionally futsal for one year and then he played college for Celso Lisboa also in Brazil. After 3 years as a technical assistant at an academy club in Brazil he came to the US in 2018 to work as Head Coach with Soccer and Futsal with TetraBrazil company. He has 5 years as a head coach and trainer in US with youth teams and also working with another programs like Soccer Camps and Schools.

Lucas KnopfCoach
After growing up playing futsal and soccer for several clubs and academies in Brazil, Lucas got graduated in Physical Education and postgraduate in Sports Training only because of soccer. All of his researches are focused in soccer and he has an article published in a magazine for his Postgraduate Course in Brazil (“The relevance of technical-cognitive skills in modern football: a literature review”). After a few years working in differents areas of Physical Education, he decided to move to USA to work with soccer through the company TetraBrazil/Challenger Sports. He has four years of coaching experience in Youth soccer, being the head coach of soccer clubs and also working with various soccer programs, summer camps and schools.

Bruno MoraesCoach
Born and raised in Brazil, Bruno played soccer and futsal for some academy programs and semi-pro clubs in Brasília. A futsal/soccer coach since 2015, his first soccer coaching experience in the US was with TetraBrazil Company in 2018, when he moved to Wisconsin. And since then he has been coaching in several different states around the US including experiences as head coach for different youth clubs. Bruno bas his BA degree Physical Education by the Universidade Católica of Brasília.

JASON AHONENCoach
Jason grew up in Lake County and was a multi-sport athlete in high school (Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball). He then played soccer at the College of Lake County and then went on to play at Carthage College. Jason received his Bachelor’s degree in Education and Exercise and Sport Science. He later received his Master’s Degree in Teaching and Leadership from St. Xavier University. Jason is entering his 15th year as the Head Coach at Warren Township High School. During his tenure at WTHS, he has led the Blue Devils to an overall record of 194-80-51, back to back state finals appearances, a State Championship in 2012, and a perfect season in the Spring of 2021 (15-0-0). During his time at WTHS 17 players have signed Division 1 scholarships and many others have played at the collegiate level.

JOAO GABRIELCoach
Born and raised in Brazil, his passion for soccer made is what made him choose Physical Education as his major at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. While in school, Joao started his soccer career in the coaching staff for Fluminense Football Club. In 2015, he had his first experience working abroad, for Tetra Brazil, in US, doing summer camps. Since 2015, he had several experiences in the US, and in Brazil, worked in PSG Academy and Flamengo Soccer School, both in Rio de Janeiro. As a soccer coach and as a Physical Education teacher, he did a master in Psychomotricity, to learn more about how to deal with kids, especially the little ones. After 4 years working in different soccer programs in the US and in Brazil, in 2019 he decided to open his own futsal school in Brazil, a Cruzeiro Esporte Clube franchise. Before coming to his new job in the US, he coached a futsal team, Estacio de Sá University, in Rio de Janeiro. Joao is currently a head coach for the Evolution Soccer Club, in Naperville, Illinois.

After growing up playing futsal and soccer for several clubs in Brazil, Marco graduated in Finance at Lees-McRae College, NCAA D1 in North Carolina. After his last winter season in school, he went to Minnesota on 2021 to coach a U-16 Girls in the Rush franchise and came to Chicago this year to work at AYSO development level.
